Markéta Dvořáková studied composition at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava and then at the JAMU in Brno, where she focused on the composition of multimedia works. She has always enjoyed combining music with other arts. She is the author or co-author of four operas (The Giraffe Opera, Alice in Bed, MrTVÁ?, Věčná slečna Bledá) and more than forty instrumental and vocal compositions and a number of arrangements and adaptations of folk songs. She is also a member of various composers' associations, performing ensembles and cultural societies (Notabene, Hudbaby, Ensemble Marijan, Association Q, Creative Centre Ostrava), has organised the Hudební současnost (Musical Present) festival for many years, organises an annual Workshop for the youngest composers in Hradec nad Moravicí and is a member of the team of lecturers of the project Hearing Differently, which focuses on developing creativity in children. She teaches at the Janáček Conservatory and the Brno JAMU.
